Blogpoll NFL Power Rankings- Week 6
The Bloguin network has ranked the NFL from top to bottom once again after this past week's action
Below are some things that really stood out:
- Teams 11-16 are all on the "playoff bubble", but what is more striking is that those 5 teams are ALL in NFC. All of these teams have had their bye and are 3-2, meaning its going to be a very interesting race for those playoff spots.
- Conference parity at the top with the top 8 teams alternating between the AFC and NFC. In past year's the AFC has had a more dominant and defined top tier of teams.
- A reversal of fortune for last year's playoff teams and this year's early season Cinderellas. The Niners and Jets have lost their last 5 games between them as playoff teams like the Panthers, Dolphins, and Cardinals are all on two game winning streaks.
- Minus the lowly Browns, the AFC North is stuck together at spots 8-10. While its early, The Bengals are 2-0 in games against the other 2 contenders while Baltimore and Pittsburgh are 0-1 each.
- Rough day for the NFC East. The Giants lose the top spot in a pretty thorough thrashing by the Saints while the Eagles and Redskins each drop substantially after emberassing losses. Collectively the conference dropped a -12 in the power rankings with the Cowboys moving up 1 spot in their bye week.
- After the NFC "playoff bubble" log jam there is a tightly packed group of 5 AFC teams 17-21. Although on the outside looking in, you'd think one of these teams has a pretty good shot to work their into a playoff spot.
