Felton not so much a fan of Jeremy Lin comparison

Written by Trevor Zickgraf on .

Raymond FeltonSince he arrived for his latest go around with the New York Knicks, Raymond Felton has been compared to last year’s point guard Jeremy Lin. Those comparisons seemed to have gotten to Felton who told the New York Post ahead of tonight's match up in Houston that he does not really get the comparisons between he and Lin, both because of their resume and style of play.

We’re two different players,’’ Felton said. “I’ve been in this league eight years. He’s been in this league half of a year coming into a year now. I definitely don’t see how anybody can compare me and him together. I’ve been in the league way longer, got a much more body of work. He had a great run last year — one of the best I’ve ever seen. I’m glad he got his money. I would never hate him about that. But to compare me and him, we’re two different players.

Felton’s second run in New York came with its own question marks after a down year in Portland where he admitted to being out of shape. He has rebounded this year, averaging 15.7 points and 6.9 assists per game for the 8-2 Knicks.  Lin has had an up and down year, averaging 10 points and 6.6 assists per game, but also only shooting 33 percent from the field.

It looked to me that Felton was trying too hard against the Rockets last night. Trying to prove he was a better choice messed his game up. The whole Knick team played opposite of the way they've been winning. There was no defense, there was no swinging the ball for an easy shot.
