Sportsnet Ontario gets creative with the score in the Carolina / Toronto game

Sportsnet Ontario flexed their creative muscle during the Carolina Hurricanes / Toronto Maple Leafs game on Monday night. Midway through the second period, Carolina led the Maple Leafs by a score of 2-1 thanks to goals from Jordan Staal and his brother Eric.

As the station prepared to go to break (or returned from break, we're not sure), they opted to run a slightly modified, slightly more creative graphic. Staal Brothers 2, Toronto 1.

Hockey fans were quick to note that perhaps Sportsnet and all the other NHL broadcasters should run a separate graphic that lists a score for the officials/referees. Can't say we blame them. The officials have had a hand in the outcome of an overwhelming number of games this season.
