Need a break from all the stories covering the lockout, the collective bargaining agreement and the upcoming shortened season? Look no further.
A report from The Dallas News indicates that the Dallas Stars are actively working on new uniforms that they hope to wear for the 2013-14 season. The report indicates that the new uniforms will be a total overhaul from their current look and will feature green as the primary color.
The move to green will be a big switch from their current scheme which has a touch of green, a bunch of yellow and an unbelievable amount of black (As you can see in the photo above). The report also stated the team will have a new logo as well as a new overall look and design. Big changes in Big D.
If you're unfamiliar with how the uniform process works, here's what you need to know. There's a deadline each year for a team to submit new uniform concepts to the NHL in order for them to be approved for the upcoming season. This year is a bit odd due to the lockout (remember that silly thing?) so Dallas requested an extension from the NHL in order to have their design approved for 2013-14. The request was approved by the NHL which means Dallas has a few more weeks before they must have their design in to the NHL.
In the near future we should see some images of the team's new logo and jersey leak out. When they do, you can bet we'll feature them here.
Perhaps the biggest question of all is whether or not Jaromir Jagr will sign a new deal with Dallas after 2013 and be the first to model their new look for 2013-14. Stay tuned.
