1. Sophomore point guard Devon Bookert played all of last season on a knee which needed surgery, and this was after missing the entire preseason. Still, he managed to be the most efficient freshman that Leonard Hamilton had ever coached at FSU. Through two games this season he's leading the team at 16.5 points per game. He's also averaging 6.0 rebounds per game, and a team best 3.5 assists. Oh, and he's stealing the ball on 5.8% of opponent possessions. Not bad for a lightly recruited, 3* player from Alaska.
2. FSU had 10 steals vs UCF. Through two games this season the Noles have already done something they never did last year: have back-to-back games with double digit steals. They have generated a steal on 13.9% of opponent possessions. The best season in the Ham era was his first, which got a steal on 13.4% of possessions.
3. Central Florida star Isaiah Sykes was limited to 13 points (on 15 shots) and turned the ball over four times. FSU's defense held him below last year's averages in points, rebounds, and assists.
4. UCF committed 20 turnovers, which accounted for 26% of their possessions. They were almost 200th in the nation last year in turnover% (197th) and still only had four games where they turned it over more than they did against FSU. The Noles have now turned teams over on 28.4% of their possessions, which is 6th best nationally.
5. FSU won 80-68 in a 77 possession game. Neither of their first two opponents have managed to score more than 0.88 points per possession. Last year FSU only held three opponents all season at or below the same figure.
