Welcome to the Friday, February 7 rebound. We quite a few conference leaders in action tonight. Let's see how they fared.

(6) Villanova 70 (21-2, 9-1) Seton Hall 53 (13-10, 4-6)
The Wildcats overcame a sluggish start to cruise to an easy win. From down 2016 with 6 minutes to go in the half, Nova went on a 18-6 run to close it. They dominated the second half with more great play. Nova shot 51% despite going 5 of 21 from 3. James Bell had 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting, 4 of 7, 2 of 2 and 6 boards. JayVaughn Pinkston had 19 on 9 of 11, with 6 boards, 2 assists and 2 steals. Darrun Hillard and Daniel Ochefu (10 boards, 6 assists) each had 10 points. Sterling Gibbs had 16 for the Pirates.
Jay Wright picked up his 400th win.
(12) Creighton 78 (19-3, 9-1) DePaul 66 (10-14, 2-9)
The Blue Jays didn't shoot the 3 ball well, 7-25, but the rest of their offense was efficient enough to keep the Blue Demons at bay. It was a historic game for Doug McDermott. During the course of action, he made his 1,000th field goal and pulled down his 1,000th rebound. McDermott had 32 on 9-21, 13-14 FTs, and 9. The only other Blue Jay in double figures at Austin Chatman, who had 11 and 5 assists. DePaul's Brandon Young scored 16 on 5 of 17 shooting. The Blue Demons shot 40%, 35%, 61.5%. A better shooting night and maybe they pull off the upset. We will never know.
CONFERENCE USA
Southern Miss 60 (20-3, 7-1) Marshall 57 (8-16, 2-7)
Marshall led nearly the entire game before Neil Watson shook his man then drilled an open 3 with 1.6 seconds left. Southern Miss hit three of their eight 3 pointers for their last three field goals. A brutal loss for the Thundering Herd.
Tulane 64 (12-11, 6-4) Charlotte 63 (14-8, 5-4)
Jay Hook (18 points) was fouled after pulling down an offensive rebound with a second left. He He hit the second to win the game.
ATLANTIC SUN
Mercer 75 (19-6, 10-2) Kennesaw State 68 (4-21, 1-11)
The Bears overcame a poor shooting performance from 3, 6-21, by hitting 21-27 at the foul line. Langston Hall was a great example of this. He scored 20 on 5 of 17 shooting, 3 of 9 from 3 but 7 of 8 at the line. Hall had 4 assists and 4 steals. Daniel Coursey had 9-14-5 blocks.
HORIZON
Detroit 59 (10-14, 3-6) Valparaiso 57 (14-10, 6-3)
Alec Peters scored a layup with 35 seconds left for Valpo. A Detroit layup attempt was blocked. After a timeout, Juwan Howard JR nailed a 3 with five seconds left for the Titan win.
IVY
Harvard 52 (18-3, 5-0) Brown 45 (11-8, 3-2)
The Crimson stay perfect in Ivy action with some great defense. Brown shot 27% / 12.5% with 15 turnovers. Harvard only shot 32% / 22% / 60%. Zena Edowsomwan had 12 points to lead the Crimson. Steve Moundou-Missi had 8-9.
Columbia 53 (14-8, 3-2) Princeton 52 (12-6, 0-4)
Meiko Lyles drilled a 3 with 28 seconds left. The Tigers missed a pair of layups on their next trip for the tough loss.
Yale 67 (10-9, 4-1) Dartmouth 54 (9-10, 2-3)
MAAC
Manhattan 84 (16-6, 9-4) Canisius 73 (16-8, 10-3)
The Jaspers jumped out to a 15-1 lead. They saw the lead cut to 3 late in the first half, but an 11-2 run rebuilt the lead. The lead would never get closer than 7. Manhattan shot 52%, 11-22 from 3. That made up for 20 turnovers. George Beamon had 27 on 9-22, 5-9, 4-5. Ashton Pankey had 16-11-5 blocks. The Golden Griffins shot 40.6%, 6-14 from 3 and 15-24 from the line. Billy Baron had 22, but on 6 of 15. He had 7 boards and 7 assists as well.
Iona 90 (14-8, 11-2) Niagara 89 (6-18, 3-10)
Iona came back from down 86-74 with 4 minutes left to claim the top spot in the MAAC. AJ English hit a 3 with 8 seconds left to give the Gaels the big win. Sean Armond had 5 of his 22 points and an assist in the run, English (15-5-5) scored 4, and Tavon Sledge had a 3 point play and assisted on the game winner. David Laury led the team with 28 on 9 of 13, 10 of 12 from the line, and 9 boards. Five Purple Eagles had double figures, topped by 18 from Ramone Snowden.
