VIDEO: Everth Cabrera makes a crazy diving play

Written by Joe Lucia on .

In the bottom of the eighth inning of Sunday's 5-4 Padres win over the Diamondbacks, Justin Upton hit a grounder deep into the hole between shortstop and third base. Everth Cabrera of the Padres made the stop on the outfield grass, and threw a laser over to first base to get Upton by a step. Cabrera made the throw from a few feet into the outfield. Cabrera didn't even fully plant his feet before winging a sidearm throw over to first baseman Yonder Alonso, who made a nice stretch to get the ball in his glove before Upton's foot hit the bag. Great work all around on this play.
