Last night in the Padres game at Chase Field against the Diamondbacks, San Diego center fielder Cameron Maybin stepped in against Arizona starter Trevor Cahill and did....that. The ball traveled to the second level of a picnic deck at Chase, well beyond the seats in left center field. The homer was estimated at 485 feet, which is the longest homer hit in the league this season. The previous high was a 484 foot bomb hit by Nelson Cruz of the Rangers in a game in Anaheim against the Angels.
