Domonic Brown manages to injure himself while sleeping

Written by Joe Lucia on .

Phillies outfield prospect Domonic Brown has seemingly fallen out of favor with management after a hand injury delayed the start of his rookie season last year, and then the season itself didn't go well, which led to a demotion to AAA in midseason. Well, things are about to get a little worse for Brown. He's sat out the last two Phillies spring training games after injuring his neck....while sleeping.

Brown fell asleep on the Phillies bus ride from Clearwater to Kissimmee on Tuesday (maybe a two hour trip), and began to really feel the pain in his neck during Wednesday's game against the Twins. He missed yesterday's game, and was also benched today to rest his neck.

Sometimes, events just keep piling up on a player's resume, and he has to wonder when it's time to move on from a team for the best interests in his career. Brown and the Phillies may be nearing that time, because his career just seems like an out of control car going down a hill at this point in time.
