Angel Pagan's diving catch saves Sergio Romo

Written by Joe Lucia on .

The Cincinnati Reds had every opportunity to put a comeback together over the last five innings of their NL Division Series game five with the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, but couldn't get more than two hits on the board in any inning. Most of the failures were their own doing, but in the bottom of the eighth, Angel Pagan made an amazing diving catch to rob Reds pinch hitter Dioner Navarro of a single that would have brought home a run. If Navarro's hit fell in, the Reds would have had Brandon Phillips, already 2/4 for the game, at the plate with two runners on and a chance to get the game even closer.
