Doug Fister got hit in the head with a line drive

Written by Joe Lucia on .

During game two of the World Series on Thursday, Doug Fister of the Tigers got hit in the head with a line drive by Gregor Blanco in the second inning. Fister didn't exit the game after getting hit, and would then walk Brandon Crawford before forcing Madison Bumgarner to pop out to end the second inning. Tigers doctors didn't look over Fister for very long, and he ended up throwing six innings in the game, allowing one run on four hits. Just one of those hits came after he was hit, and he set down 13 in a row before a Hunter Pence single to lead off the seventh inning.
