Dugout Digest - homefield still means nothing

Written by Joe Lucia on .

The results of both of Sunday's LCS games is further feeding the "homefield advantage is a silly thing" theory after three of the four LDS winners won game five on the road.

-Tigers 3, Yankees 0
-Cardinals 6, Giants 4

Yeah, look at that. More road teams winning. The Tigers are now up 2-0 on the Yankees headed back to cozy Comerica Park with Justin Verlander on the mound on Tuesday, while the Cardinals look to take a 2-0 lead of their own today.

-Cardinals vs Giants, 8:00 PM. Chris Carpenter vs Ryan Vogelsong (1-0 Cardinals)

Not a lot happened in the games yesterday...lots of fantastic pitching, both starting and relieving. Carlos Beltran and David Freese continued writing their postseason hero novels, and the Yankees looked lost without Derek Jeter for the first time in the playoffs since 1995. Just another day in Major League Baseball, I guess.

Enjoy your day of baseball, everyone.
