The Lexington Legends' new logo is...a mustache

Written by Joe Lucia on .

The Lexington Legends of the A-ball South Atlantic League recently signed a player development agreement with the Royals for the 2013 season. As part of their new affiliation, the Legends did some rebranding with their logos and uniforms, and their road caps will be adorned with...a mustache.

The full rebranding was revealed last night, and the mustache cap was the most interesting new design released. The mustache is a tribute to Lexington's mascot Big L, who has a giant mustache as his defining feature.

The unveiling of the new uniforms, which you can see in full here, began when Big L rappelled down a 410 foot building in downtown Lexington with a crowd awaiting below. All this for new uniforms and colors...gotta love Minor League baseball.

That is one of the most fantastic ideas ever. Minor League Baseball. The only place you can do that with uni's. That is, unless you are the Nike Ducks.

@EricNathanson Most of the people that work in the marketing departments for minor league teams are absolute geniuses. There is so much innovation going on with promotions that they deserve promotions to the majors to replace the usual batch of nonsense we see at MLB parks
