Another season another Texas Rangers AL pennant.  Yeah, that's right, two straight World Series appearances for the Rangers suddenly has them looking like a potential powerhouse for years to come.  The biggest difference from 2010 to this year is that losing in the World Series is now something of a disappointment for the Rangers, aka the Buffalo Bills of Major League Baseball (just kidding, settle down, Texas fans).

Now that their season is done, let's take a look back at what exactly went right and wrong for the Texas Rangers in 2011.

After hiring Buck Showalter and ending the 2010 season on a roll, there was some actual excitement around the Orioles coming into 2011. Maybe the string of losing would finally come to an end (even if it was just 81-81)! Nope. The Buck Magic wore off, and it turned out that the Orioles were still the Orioles as they finished in a distant 5th place in the East and couldn't get to even 70 wins.

A new day, a new side of the MLB Movember Mustache Madness bracket.  I have to admit, I couldn't wait to get to the Wild Card bracket and am so glad it is finally here.  Starting off the fun, we take a look at the two best mustaches movies about baseball have to offer.

Mr. Baseball (aka Tom Selleck)

This is kind of cheating since his mustache is not unique to the movie.  Heck, it is probably responsible for Selleck's entire career.  But since it is one of the most legendary 'staches in the history of mankind, the baseball world should be glad they got to enjoy it.

Major League Manager Lou Brown from (aka James Gammon)

I'm still mad that Lou Brown's mustache didn't get an Oscar nod.

At the All-Star break, this award looked like Jose Reyes' to lose. The Mets shortstop was having a dominant year, and had piled up 5.2 fWAR in 80 games. In the 46 games after the break, he was worth just 1.0 fWAR, and tailed off in the race. Other candidates stepped up big time, and the award looked a lot more competitive at the end of the day. But when all the votes were tabulated, two candidates stood head and shoulders above the rest.
