I'm sure many of you have seen the above clip of former Bears great Gale Sayers addressing the Bountygate scandal on Comcast SportsNet Chicago's "Inside Look" program. The battle lines of the scandal are as stark as ever with former and current players adding their names to each side of the issue.
While I do think Sayers let his emotions get the best of him in this interview, his overarching opinion does give rise to the question; did Roger Goodell go too easy on those involved in the Saints' bounty program? It's beginning to look as if the Saints were lucky the NFL didn't have more compelling evidence in the case. Had the NFL turned up indisputable, damning evidence, those players and coaches involved may have never been allowed to see an NFL field again.
