Bears stay alive, Giants out following early Sunday games

With the Lions loss to the Bears, the Giants have been eliminated from the playoff race. The Bears will now become huge Green Bay fans, as they need the Vikings to lose their matchup against the Packers in the late round of games.

The Giants needed a huge list of games to go their way to make it into the postseason. They needed to take care of business on their end, and they needed the Lions, Packers and Redskins all to win.

On the AFC side of the equation, the Houston Texans were defeated by the Indianapolis Colts, putting the top seed in the playoffs up for grabs. The Denver Broncos will take over as the top-seeded team in the AFC with a win. Should the Patriots also win, the Texans would be pushed clear back to the third seed and into the wildcard round.

The best part of the early games is that they've set a clear path to seeing a Patriots, Broncos AFC title game. Yes, that means it's possible, if not probable, that we could be treated to another Manning, Brady conference championship. I'm already looking forward to it.
