Best news for the Eagles, week June 25 edition: Michael Vick speaks of discipline. Have some on the field, says Jaws

Michael Vick

Michael Vick's remarks at the NFL Rookie Symposium were well received. "Are you bigger than the game," asked Vick? His answer is no while citing lessons he learned in the lead-up to his downfall for dog fighting. Vick could see his fall coming, but did not change his behavior. He advised incoming players to hold themselves accountable and be wary of those who see their company. "The game will get along with, or without you."

Whether you buy Vick's change or heart, or not, he can reach some players that Roger Goodell cannot. Kudo's to Vick for sharing life's lessons learned.

Ron Jaworski believes Michael Vick is in for a big year in 2012, according to a story in profootballtalk.nbcsports.com. This is "the first time since 2006 with the Falcons that he will go through the OTAs and training camp as the starting quarterback," says Jaws. But to have that big year, Vick cannot leave plays on the field by going outside the pocket. Jawarski charted Vicks every play of last season and finds that he was taken to the ground 11 times per game. This came in spite of a fine Eagles' offensive line. Vick is a potential top-five quarterback when he throws from the pocket and must be disciplined enough to play from there.

"I would not be surprised if we’re getting ready to see the best year of Vick’s ten-year career."
