The best team in the AFC no one is talking about

Throughout most of the year, most fans and experts have almost written off the Steelers. With key injuries to Troy, Harrison and a banged up struggling run game, the Steelers were thought to be only a shade of their former selves after a bad loss to the Raiders early on this season.  After 3 straight wins the Steelers have quietly improved to a 5-3 record.

With Baltimore now suffering major injuries and cooled off after a quick start the Steelers are once again back in the discussion to win their division. This week the Steelers went to New York and beat the Giants finally getting back into the public eye.

While it might a bit of a stretch to call the Steelers a sleeper team but it’s rare that you have heard them being mentioned as one of the elite teams this year. Their offensive line is consistently getting banged up and Troy still hasn’t returned however Big Ben is quietly having an MVP like season.

If the Steelers can continue their hot streak and get healthy at the right time there is no reason to think this team couldn’t represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Big Ben has been of the best QB’s in the league this year on 3rd down and has had an uncanny ability to just win games. Ben has that clutch gene that we hear so much about today in sports.  With 2 games still coming up against the Ravens, I would be very afraid.

I am going on record here saying I believe Pittsburg will in fact win the division, and believe they are the team to beat in the AFC. The Steelers organization just know how to win. The only concern I have with this Pitt team is not Houston (who I believe they can beat) but New England, who the Steelers know has tore them a new one several times in the past.
