Bruce Arians missed the opportunity to call plays for the Colts' offense last weekend due to a sudden illness that forced him to be hospitalized in Baltimore instead of being on the sidelines. The illness may have kept Arians from coaching in the playoffs, but he's all set to continue searching for a head coaching job.
According to Mike Chappell of the Indy Star, Arians underwent tests to determine his ailment. It's believed that he's dealing with an inner-ear infection which explains why his illness was originally believed to be influenza. For those of you that aren't familiar with the vestibular system, otherwise known as the inner-ear, it's a central component to developing feelings of nausea.
With his illness now under control, and our brief health lesson in the rear-view mirror, Arians will be turning his focus back to head coaching opportunities. The Eagles, Bears and, more recently, Browns have been granted permission to interview Arians for their respective head coaching positions. Considering Arians unforeseen success heading the Colts, it seems likely that he'll get at least one head coaching offer.
Although he'll be interviewing for head coaching positions elsewhere, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano would love to see Arians stay in Indianapolis, via the Indy Star, "We do not want to lose Bruce Arians,” coach Chuck Pagano said. “He is so valuable to this organization. You want the best for Bruce. I want the best for Bruce. I want the best for his family."
