Rams pulling out ’99 throwback uniforms against Titans, Buccaneers

The Rams will be hoping to revive the Best Show on Turf by pulling out their 1999 throwback uniforms twice in the upcoming season.

Per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams will be wearing their throwbacks in week 9 against the Titans. The game is fitting for a couple of reasons. The Rams beat the Titans following the 1999 season in Super Bowl XXXIV by a score of 23-16. Oh yeah, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher was the Titans' head coach at the time.

The second time we'll see the throwbacks will be in another nostalgic game. In week 16, the Rams will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team the Rams defeated in the NFC championship game during their Super Bowl run by a score of 11-6.

The Rams couldn't have picked better games to pull out their Super Bowl throwbacks for, but their offense still has a lot of improvements to make before we'll be confusing them with the Rams' 1999 squad. If we're lucky, the Titans and the Buccaneers will wear their away uniforms from the same season, although I'd be surprised to see those teams oblige if such a request were made.
