Game 2 of the ALDS series between the Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics finished at 9:30 p.m. local time in the Bay Area Saturday night, giving the folks at O.co Coliseum about 23 hours to convert the field from baseball mode to football mode. Here's a time lapse, courtesy of the coliseum's Twitter feed:
It's amazing how much work goes into the transformation. And man, they must have been a little panicked when there was so much work still do be done once the sun rose.
@WillHarahan Oakland A's deserve a new stadium. More than the Rays do.
@WillHarahan Luckily it probably does not cost much to convert from baseball to football and vice versa.
@AirJordan who saw that coming......
@awfulannouncing great video.
@awfulannouncing Usually you see the hoops to hockey (or vice versa) changeover. Never seen baseball to football. Awesome video.
@awfulannouncing I looked this up earlier tonight.. I didn't think it took as long as it does to do that...props to the work crew!
@JustinCusick better team and fanbase IMO.
@WillHarahan Yep, I watched it. Pretty cool.
